This paper is the production from the bark of the Mulberry (Broussonetia
papyrifera) tree.
This kind of
paper is popularly known in Myanmar The
bark of Mulberry tree is mixed with the small amount of lime and plenty
of ashes in a bamboo container and boiled and stirred thoroughly. It is
repeatedly stirred to soften the fiber and enough to spread like creamy.
Then it is poured into the cotton sieve in a tray with a frame and the
pieces of fiber are spread all over the tray. The unusual feature is
adding the leaves, small twigs, flower and petals found in the
environment. This makes the paper so attractive and adorable in using to
decorate and using at other places if needed. The mainly use of Shan
paper is umbrella! |
