Inle Lake sightseeing |
Sightseeing around Inle Lake,
the second biggest lake in Myanmar, by having boat trip.
Sightseeing tour includes Floating Market (can available see on
the market days only which is hold on every five days),
the leg-rowers,
floating gardens, local
fishing, Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda,
the most revered one on the lake, and the
Nga Phe Chaung Monastery well known for its
Jumping Cats. Then
visit cottage industry of silk weaving on wooden hand-looms where
you can purchase Shan shoulder bags, cloth and longyi. |

Indein Excursion
|

Take an excursion boat trip
Indein. Have a small trek in
Thale U village to study the village life and cottage
industry if any. Lunch stop. Afternoon visit to
Indein on the narrow Indaing
creek. Indein Pagoda is an
ancient one located on the hill lock at the western bank of the
Inlay Lake. You can observe a cluster of ancient stupas some are
ruined. To reach the pagoda it has to walk up hill along the
covered way. It has quite interesting scenes while cruising along
the narrow creek. Return to hotel. |

Kakku Excursion
|

Transfer to Nyaung Shwe Jetty by boat and
drive to Taunggyi, another former British hill-station, 4,690 (1,430m)
above sea level is two hours drive from Kalaw an hour's drive from
Inlay Lake. Visit to Kakku,
cluster of hundreds of ancient pagodas said to be the merit of
King Asoka of India. The particular interest is the village life
along the road to the Kakku. The small road across a dozen of the
pretty Pa-O villages and very green plantations irrigated by
stream water. |
