Tucked away in a far eastern corner of the Shan State, 456km
northeast of Taunggyi, the lovely and sleepy
Kyaing Tong is
surrounded by Wa, Akha, Enn, Lahu ethnic villages. It is probably
the most scenic town in the Shan State, and offers many
attractions for trekkers.
Day 01
Pick-up at hotel in Yangon and transfer to airport for flight
to Kyaing Tong (Keng Tong). Upon arrival, transfer to hotel.
Afternoon sightseeing in Kyaing Tong includes
Maha Myatmuni
Pagoda, Sun Taung Monastery, One Tree Pagoda and scenic
Naung Tong
Lake. Overnight in Kyaing Tong. |

Day 02
Morning colorful market in
Kyaing Tong holds a complete
attraction for the visitors. Proceed by car about 45 minutes to
visit "Enn" tribe village, which has particular interest for their
black teeth. Continue visit to the ethnic tribe villages of the
region. Overnight in Kyaing Tong. |
Day 03
Drive to Loi-mwe (33 km-1 hour), once an outpost of the
British. Featuring a number of old colonial building, century old
churches and nearby Akha, Lahu, Wa and Enn hill-tribe villages.
Return to Kyaing Tong, passing through picturesque forests and
terraced rice fields. Overnight in Kyaing Tong. |
Day 04
Morning at leisure until departure.Transfer to Kyaing Tong airport for flight to
Yangon.
